Evil Ukulele CD

about the cd THE CD IS AVAILABLE NOW!

Around the time I discovered ukulele, I was teaching at a 'guitar camp'. Every day I played the lessons on ukulele and exhorted the young guitarists to abandon six strings in favor of four.

My friend Mare Wakefield and her songwriting class responded by writing an epic tale in four verses called EVIL UKULELE. It is a classic, a four string gotterdammerung.

Along with it are 13 other pieces, mostly new stuff and some elaborate remixes of some of my old favorites. It's a musical fruitcake of multi-stringed pandemonium.

Djangology

I love the way this one turned out. It's Happy!

Evil Ukulele

An evil talisman tuned G C E A A four string Gotterdammerung!
Play It!

J'Attendre

Jean Sablon used to do this one with Django Reinhardt.
Play It!

James Bond Theme

The famous Monty Norman score. This is a lot more elaborate than the one on the ukulele page.
Play It!

Live and Let Die

I've said it before, good song, bad movie. You know... I really liked Roger Moore as 'the saint', so I was glad when he was chosen to replace Sean Connery. But he just couldn't do it. My wife thinks otherwise though.
Play It!

Mukilteo Moon

I have gone to the Northwest Djangofest on Whidbey Island the last two years. You must cross over on the ferry at Mukilteo and I thought that name would sound good in a song title.
Play It!

Roly Poly

Debbie D'Bongo heard this and said, 'Where the hell did you get that?' It's a Bob Wills song by the way.
Play It!
